Telling a Unified Story Amid Rapid M&A

Situation: A PE-backed software company grew through acquisition: 12+ companies in five countries, while revenue rose from $150M in 2018 to $400M in 2022. Each deal brought its own brand, website, and team.

Task: Make a fast-growing set of companies look and sound like one company to customers, employees, and investors.

Actions:

  • Created internal/external M&A communications strategy and built best practices for expedited brand integrations.

  • Reporting to the CEO, rebuilt a 12-person team after a reorganization (content, communications, social media, events, marketing ops) and managed a multi-million-dollar budget.

  • Led integrated campaigns with GMs, demand generation, and product marketing across four business lines.

  • Established a brand style guide and socialized it across a matrixed organization.

  • Directed global website strategy to support localization on three continents.

  • Worked with executive leaders to package the company story for exit marketing and recapitalization.

Result: 9 announcements, 418 media placements, 1.7M+ website visitors, rising employee satisfaction scores, and a successful company exit.
